Climate Change A Myth?

I'm sitting here at home watching coverage of a devastating tornado outbreak in Alabama. What could quite possibly be a catastrophic EF5 tornado tore through parts of Central Alabama, including a direct strike on Birmingham. That tornado had been on the ground for at least 30 minutes and has caused substantial loss of property and at least one death. This storm, along with the rest of the line and the weather front that birthed all of it are being fueled in part by La Nina. What should also be kept in mind is that this is also being fueled by warmer planitery temperatures.

I know we have had devastating tornado outbreaks in the past. This is nothing new. I live in a state where one of the worst happened, Xenia, Ohio. But what we are now seeing is an upsurge in this weather striking major populated areas. It used to be said that tornados would not hit major cities, and yet tonight we've seen just that. This winter had much harsher weather and that has been the norm for the past few years.

This is the new reality. More extreme weather outbreaks, greater loss of life and propety. Dynamic weather the likes of which haven't been seen before.

Still want to say that global warming and climate change aren't real and dangerous?

(The death toll from yesterday's storms is at 130. The supercell storm traveled over 300 miles, making it the longest on record.)

Not trying to be a smartass, but....

If the GOP gets its way in Washington and passes laws seriously regulating the porn industry, won't that mean they won't be able to hold fund raisers at S&M strip clubs? Seems counter-productive to me.

This thing is still here??

Wow. It's been about a year since I last posted. I completely forgot I had his blog. I just wish people actually read it. Might make me post more. Oh well. :-)

With time, all things are possible.
I can wait.

Caturday pic

This kitten was rescued from a storm drain here in Columbus by fire fighters from the Worthington, Ohio Fire Department. The picture was taken by Kurt Ludlow from WBNS 10TV, who covered the story for the 11pm newscast. Seems the poor kitten was nearly hit a few times while trying to cross High St (I believe that was the road reported). A passer by stopped to try and catch the kitten before it got killed, and the kitten, while running away, fell into a storm drain. Calls went out and the Worthington Fire Fighters were eventually called in. They got the little furball out, and one even decided to adopt the little guy! The kitten is feral, so its rescue is even better! Forever homes for homeless cats usually equal very happy and appriciative kitties! I wanted to upload this to Twitter, but I'm going to have to try something different. In the meantime, enjoy this cute LOLcat pic!

Randomness

Well, maybe not *too* random. I wanted to post a blog about what I'd like to see done with the Android OS, but its coming along very well. Normally, when I write an essay, it comes off looking like an uneditted Ozzy Osbourne interview. The essay that currently resides in my Drafts folder is even worse! :) I'm thinking I'm going to wait to finish it until after the next OS update hits my phone sometime this next month.

Caturday post, and a small request

You know how hard it is to move a cat who wants a part of your dinner while you are holding a pot of boiling water? I know! :)

I have a request for the parents out there. Would be at all possible for you to teach your kids how to behave in public? You may think them streaking through the resturant is cute and shows spunk, but everyone else just wants to beat the Holy Hell out of them. And you.

Just saying.
